OUTING CLUB EVENTS 09/22 - 09/28
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Climbing Wall hours: The Nate Lowe Climbing Wall will begin it’s regular hours this week. The wall is located in the field house, and is open Monday-Thursday from 8-10 pm.  The wall is available to current WOC members - If you have not purchased the annual $10 student $15/fac/staff membership - you can purchase memberships at the climbing wall during open hours.  Email Sarah (smv1) with questions.

Volunteer for Outdoor Outreach: Help get kids from the Williamstown Youth Center into the outdoors! This program runs from 3:30-5:30 on Fridays with a small group of children aged 10 to 12. We will be rock climbing, canoeing, hiking, eating snacks, and playing games. Bring enthusiasm and your best capture the flag skills! Contact Hannah at hmb2 for more info.
 
Mountain Day Hike Leaders Wanted: Already psyched for Mountain Day? We are too, and we're looking for excited folks to lead the hikes up Stone Hill, Stoney Ledge and over Mt. Greylock. You must have a wilderness first aid cert, and you must be available for each of the three first Fridays of October. You'll get a free Mountain Day leader tee shirt in return! Email Lucy (ljb1) if you would like to volunteer!
 
Equipment Room hours: Equipment room located Paresky level M. Open Mon - Thur 12:30 - 1:30 and Fri 12 -2.

Polar Bear Swim: Meet at Paresky steps at 9pm. Contact Galen (gts1) with questions.
 
WEDNESDAY:
Weekly WOC meeting: 7PM in Schapiro Hall 141, all are welcome! Contact Will (wbe1) to learn more.

Stone Hill Campout: Spend the night under the stars on beautiful Stone Hill! Meet at the WOC Equipment Room in Paresky at 9:00 pm on Wednesday, and return in time for your 8:30 am class Thursday morning. Email Galen (gts1) to sign up or ask questions.

THURSDAY:

FRIDAY:
Sunrise Hike up Pine Cobble: Meet on Chapin Steps at 6:00 AM.  Dress for the weather, bring a water bottle and a cup for hot drinks.  Return to campus by 8:30AM.  Contact Scott at [log in to unmask] for questions?
 
Learn to Slackline: Come learn to slackline with Max and Raja Friday at 2:00 PM between Morgan Hall and Rt. 2. All experience levels welcome!

SUNDAY:
Hopkins Forest Fall Festival, this Sunday, 9/28, 1:00-4:00
Come out to celebrate the changing of the season and the bounty of our wooded landscape...shake splitting and cross-cut saw, apple butter and cider, canopy walkway, a bee hive, music, refreshments, kids activities and general fun.  Shuttle from Paresky every 15 minutes (on the quarter hour).  See you there!
