OUTING CLUB EVENTS 10/9 - 10/12
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS:

-MOUNTAIN DAY T-SHIRTS: Due to popular demand, we'll be offering another opportunity for you to be the proud owner of this year's Mt. Day green t-shirt to remember "one of the best mountain days in the history of mountain days!!"
If interested please email Alyssa, aka1 with your size and unix - we'll be in touch!

 -Instructor Monitor Training: There will be a 2 part training for anyone interested in becoming an IM at the Nate Lowe climbing wall.  The training will take place on Sunday 10/19 from 3-5 pm and Wednesday 10/22 from 8-10 pm. 

-You must attend both sessions.  Belay certification is required.  Please fill out the attached application or pick up a copy outside the WOC office.  Contact da1 with questions or to return electronic applications.  Paper copies can be returned to folder outside WOC office.

-Equipment Room hours: Equipment room located Paresky level M. Open Mon - Thur 12:30 - 1:30 and Fri 12 -2.


THURSDAY:
-Open climbing at the Nate Lowe climbing wall  Towne Field House 8 - 10pm Town (must be a current WOC member or bring $10 to join)

-Polar Bear Swim: Meet at Paresky steps at 9pm. Contact Galen (gts1) with questions.
 
FRIDAY:
-Sunrise Hike up Pine Cobble: Meet on Chapin steps at 6:00 AM.  Dress for the weather, bring a water bottle, headlamp, and a cup for hot drinks.  Return to campus by 8:30AM.  Contact Scott at [log in to unmask] for questions?

-Learn to Slackline: Come learn to slackline with Max and Raja Friday at 2:00 PM between Morgan Hall and Rt. 2. All experience levels welcome! Contact Max (mbf2) for more info (Event is conditional on dry weather).

 -Sunset Hike: Meet on Chapin steps at 5:15 PM. Bring an extra layer, headlamp and water bottle. Contact Owen (oak1) with questions.  

-SKIING ON THE BIG SCREEN! In the spirit of the upcoming winter season, the Ski and Snowboard Club will be showing Matchstick Productions’ 2014 film Days of My Youth this Friday, October 10 at 7pm in Bronfman Auditorium.  This movie is two years in the making, and features MSP’s top athletes like Cody Townsend, Richard Permin, James Heim, and Michelle Parker.  It’s been praised for its cinematography, story lines, and of course some unreal skiing.  Please consider stopping by to kick of your reading period!

FRIDAY/SATURDAY/SUNDAY:
-APPALACHIAN LONG DISTANCE HIKER ASSOCIATION GATHERING - see attached workshop schedule or go to the ALDHA website: WWW.ALDHA.ORG
Don’t miss this AMAZING opportunity to learn everything you ever wanted to know about hiking and treks all over the world...check out the attached workshop schedule.  This is free to the Williams College community - students/staff/faculty.. just present your Williams ID at the door to adventure!


 -SATURDAY
(Chill) Hike Up Mt. Greylock 
Take your nose out of a book and get outside this reading period! Join us as we hike a 3 mi. trail up Greylock, then soak in some stunning views of amazing fall foliage in the Berkshires while munching on delicious snacks.
Meet at Chapin Steps at 1 pm, return to campus by 5:30 pm at the latest. Eat lunch beforehand, wear sturdy hiking shoes, bring a water bottle. Email aer1 to reserve a spot on the van.
