OUTING CLUB EVENTS 11/14 – 11/20
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS
-The equipment room is open from 12:30-1:30PM on Tuesday-Thursday, and 12-2PM on Friday. Visit us in Paresky basement to check out gear with your WOC membership card.  If you are not yet a member, you can purchase a membership ($10 for students) in the equipment room.
- WOC Winter Skills PE Instructor applications now available outside the WOC office door, 2nd floor Paresky - teach and share your love of skiing (downhill/telemark/nordic), snowboarding, and snowshoeing.
 
    	
 TUESDAY
-Polar Bear Swim; join us for a refreshing dip in the Green River.  Meet on Paresky steps at 9 PM, and don’t forget to bring warm clothes, a flashlight, and a towel. Email Miles at mdh1 with questions. 
-Open climbing at the Nate Lowe wall in the Field House! 8:00-10:00PM        	
 
WEDNESDAY
- Weely WOC meeting: 7PM in Schapiro Hall 141, all members are welocme!  contact Sara at sjd1 or Grace at ggm1 to learn more
- High Mountain Institute presentation: 7:45 pm in Schapiro Hall 141 - Come and learn about this amazing opportunity for teaching Outdoor education&traditional classes in the mountains of Colorado!

THURSDAY

-Kayak rolling! Come learn to roll a kayak (and play ultimate sponge) in the college pool, no experience necessary! 7PM - 8:30PM. Questions?  Email sjd1.

FRIDAY
-Sunrise Hike up Pine Cobble!  Meet at Chapin Steps at 6AM, we will return to campus by 8:45AM.

SATURDAY

SUNDAY 11/20
-Lindseth Climbing Competition at Cornell “An event for novices and advanced climbers alike. Join us for new boulder problems, fantastic prizes, raffles to local restaurants, and fun with friends. Children are welcome! All proceeds (all of it!) go to supporting OURS & YOURS--a youth outreach program that supports local under-served children with mentoring and field trips.” We will leave early Sunday morning and return late in the afternoon. Email Muzhou (ml4) if interested.
Registration starts at 12:30pm, Competition at 1:00pm, Prizes and Raffles at 4:00pm.
$20 for adults to compete, $15 for Cornell students, $10 for children under 12. Climbing shoes are available for rental for $5.

-Day Hike in Monroe State Forest! Monroe is a beautiful old-growth forest east of here. We’ll probably leave sometime in the morning, hike and picnic, and be back to campus by mid afternoon, but scheduling/timing is flexible. Email Sonja (smt1) if interested or with questions.
