OUTING CLUB WEEKLY CALENDAR 01/12 - 01/15

Hello WOC family! Come check out some of the awesome outdoors events we
have going on this weekend. All events are open to WOC members. For more
information on how to join WOC, ask your trip leader or head on down to the
equipment room.

Announcements:


Dead Week Trips:

Adirondack winter sampler: Come stay in the gorgeous Adirondacks during
dead week (1/29-1/31) and enjoy the winter woods while staying in a cozy
(heated) cabin at night. Day activities may include snowshoeing, sledding,
snow fort building and nordic skiing. We will have a beginner day trip as
well as a more advanced option and encourage people of all levels of winter
outdoor experience to come along! Email Owen (oak1) with questions or to
sign up.

Two night trip to Merck Forest:  Ski in three miles to the spacious “Ned’s
Place” Cabin near the top of Antone Mountain in Merck forest for a couple
days (1/29-1/31) of winter adventures! Intermediate level of cross country
skiing required. Email Louisa (lbg2) with questions or to sign up. Trip is

Climbing:

Open Climbing: Tonight 9 -11, The hour from 9 -10 is reserved for non-CIS
men only and all are welcome from 10 -11.

Thursday:

Kayak rolling pool session!  Want to learn how to roll a kayak 360 degrees
(you’ve all got the 180 degree roll down)?  Come to the college pool at
7:30pm - no experience necessary!  Bring a bathing suit - see you there!

Friday:

Need some brain nourishment - endorphins galore after a refreshing Sunrise
Hike up Pine Cobble: Meet at the WOC Equipment Room (NOT PARESKY STEPS) at
6:00 AM.  Dress for the snow and cold, bring a water bottle and a cup for
hot drinks.  Return to campus by 8:45 am.  Contact Dave, [log in to unmask]

Saturday:

National Girls and Women in Sports Day  - the Nate Lowe Climbing Wall will
be open for this event and we need women to help out.  Certified belayers
are particularly needed.  Contact Dave da1 or Annabelle asf5 for more info
or to volunteer.


*Ski/hike to Tannery Falls in Savoy Mt. State Forest*   The good thing
about this rain is that the falls should be impressive.  We may ski, but
more likely we will hike.  Meet at the Equipment Room at 1 pm.  Wear warm
clothes and bring a full water bottle.  Back at Williams by 5 pm.

Equipment Room:  Equipment room is located Paresky level M. Open noon - 2
pm during Winter Study.  Not open 01/14 due to lack of snow.  Email

memberships during open hours, Student $10, Fac/Staff $15, spouse/partner
$25
