Hello WOC family!  Come check out some of the awesome outdoors events we
have going on.   All events are open to WOC members. For more information

APPLY TO BE A WOOLF LEADER: Applications for leading a WOOLF trip this fall
are open for members of the class of 2023! There are three components to
the application:

BACK COUNTRY FILM FESTIVAL:  On Saturday 1/11 WOC will be hosting the 15th
Annual BCFF

in Brooks-Rogers recital hall in the Bernhard Music Center.  The doors will
open at 6:30 for a 7 pm show. Come early as this show “sold out” last
year.  There is no admission charge but bring $$ to enter the raffle for
great prizes. All raffle proceeds benefit local groups working to protect
and promote human powered winter outdoor activities.  See attachment for
more info.



Williams Climbing Club (WCC) and WOC Reel Rock Film Showing: Join us on January
17th for a free showing of Reel Rock 14, a celebration of climbing through
film. This year's Reel Rock features three short films: The High Road,
about Nina Williams's highball bouldering; The Nose Speed Record,
documenting Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell's quest to climb El Cap as fast
as possible, no matter the cost; and United States of Joe's, exploring a
clash of cultures between locals and climbers in rural Utah.

Doors open at 7:30pm, show starts at 8:00pm. Tickets are free and available

The Nate Lowe climbing wall:  Come get sendy with us!  The wall is open
tonight from 9 -11.  From 9 - 10 is reserved for those who don’t identify
as cis-gender male. From 10 -11 we welcome everyone. Come enjoy the new
year by trying out one of our new boulder problems or roping up for some
great views of the field house ceiling.



WOC Equipment Room:   The Equipment Room will be open Th & F from 12 -2
pm.  The Equipment Room will not be open this Saturday. Email:

WOC activities:



Thursday:

Kayak Rolling Session 7:30 - 9:00 Come by the indoor pool to learn the
basics of kayaking! Learn the basics of kayaking including forward paddle
strokes and rolling a full 360 degrees. Open to people of any or no
experience. Contact Jackson at [log in to unmask] if you have questions!



Friday:

Weekly sunrise hike wake up and down Pine Cobble (witness sunrise at
7:22am) Meet on Paresky steps at 6:00 AM.  Dress for the chill and snowy
trail,  bring extra layers, headlamp, filled water bottle and a cup for hot
drinks.  Return to campus by 8:30AM. Contact Seamus, [log in to unmask] TO
RESERVE A SPOT by Thursday, 9AM.

Ski Tuning Clinic!  Do you have really dull skis?  Ever wanted to learn to
how to make them sharp and ready for the icy east?  Come learn in the WOC
Equipment room at 11am on Sunday! Email asf5 with questions.



The trip to Prospect Mountain Cross-Country Ski Area *has been cancelled.*
