WOC-ly OUTING CLUB CALENDAR 10/07- 10/13

Hello WOC family!  Come check out some of the awesome outdoors events we
have going on this week.   All events are open to WOC members. For more
information on how to join WOC, ask your trip leader or head on down to the
equipment room.

Announcements:

MOUNTAIN DAY?????  ONLY if President Maud rings the bells! see attached
Helpful hints on how to enjoy Mt. Day!!



APPALACIAN LONG DISTANCE HIKERS ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE!!   Coming to
Williams College friday - sunday, 10/11 - 10/13 - see attached program..Free
to the Williams College community simply by showing your Williams ID - WOW
great opportunity to participate in the many, many workshop offerings -
don’t miss this IF you’re on campus!!!



Reading Period Trips:

Canoe Trip to the Adirondacks! Join us for three lovely days canoeing on
Lower and Middle Saranac Lake surrounded by beautiful fall foliage. No
paddling experience is necessary! We will be leaving campus Sunday morning
and returning to campus on Tuesday. Please contact Charlotte (cgj1) with
questions or to sign up. Space is limited, so sign up soon!



Overnight to the WOC Lean-To! Join us for an overnight Sunday night to the
WOC lean-to just a quick hike from campus. We’ll hike out Sunday afternoon
and return on Monday afternoon. It’ll be a lovely way to break up reading
period and decompress with friends. Please contact Alex Pear (arp2) with
questions or to sign up. Also, if there is enough demonstrated interest, we
could perhaps do a two night overnight and return Tuesday morning instead.



Selling Mountain Day Shirts! Mountain Day shirts for sale at Paresky from
11:30am-1pm. Shirts are $10 cash or venmo. There’s a limited supply so get
them now!



Mountain Day Accessibility Van Deadline: If you are interested in
participating in Mountain Day events on Stone Hill or Stony Ledge and have
a documented accessibility need, please email Charlotte (cgj1). Mountain
Day is about so much more than activities on Stone Hill or Stony Ledge, but
if you would like to participate and have a documented accessibility need,
please sign up as soon as possible. Spots are limited and cannot be
guaranteed if you do not sign up before Mountain Day, so sign up now!



Additionally, if you would like to walk up Stony Ledge but would like to
leave a little earlier to hike at a more leisurely pace, sign up to come on
an early bus! We will be meeting at 11:45.  Email [log in to unmask] to sign
up or with any questions!



The Nate Lowe climbing wall:  Monday - Thursday from 8pm - 10pm (thursdays
from 8-9pm reserved for people who don’t identify as cis-gender male.  All
climbers are welcome from 9-10)



WOC Equipment Room:   The Equipment Room will be open M - Th 12:30 - 1:30

*NOTE - Equipment room will be CLOSED FRIDAY IF MOUNTAIN DAY



WOC activities:

Thursday:

Tie-dye Fun! 2:00pm-3:00pm Come by Paresky Lawn to tie-dye! Bring your own
white item or email rm11 to reserve a $5 white shirt. No experience is
necessary. Tie-dye! Fun!



Kayak Rolling Session 7:30 - 9:00 Come by the indoor pool to learn the
basics of kayaking! Learn the basics of kayaking including forward paddle
strokes, turning a kayak with and without a paddle, and rolling a full 360
degrees. Open to people of any or no experience. Contact JT at

Friday:

IF not Mt. Day - Weekly Sunrise hike to the summit of Pine Cobble (witness
sunrise at 7:01am) Meet on Paresky steps at 6:00 AM.  Dress for the
weather,  Bring a headlamp, filled water bottle and a cup for hot drinks.
