WOC-ly OUTING CLUB CALENDAR 12/03- 12/08
Hello WOC family! Come check out some of the awesome outdoors events we
have going on this week. All events are open to WOC members. For more
information on how to join WOC, ask your trip leader or head on down to the
equipment room.
Announcements:
ATTENTION ALL FIRST YEARS! Do you want to be a WOOLF Leader? Come to the
WOOLF Information Session on Monday, December 9 at 7:30PM in Paresky
Auditorium -BRING YOUR COLLEGE ID. All first year students are welcome to
apply! Contact Duncan McCarthy ([log in to unmask]), Williams Ren(
[log in to unmask]), or Thomas Eilertsen([log in to unmask]) with any
questions.
Open climbing 12/5: Open to all members of the Williams community. Come
to the climbing wall on 12/5 from 2-4 and be part of a PE instruction
course. We need learners of all ages and abilities (preferably beginner) to
join this class and learn from student PE instructor candidates. No
experience or special equipment is necessary, just a willingness to be
taught about climbing and a desire to learn. Contact dave at da1 if you are
interested.
WOC & Mt. Day T-shirts for sale Everyone in your family wants a WOC or Mt.
Day T-shirt for the Holidays. WOC will be selling the shirts in Paresky
lobby Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week. WOC silky smooth Bamboo
T-shirts are $15, Underarmour Tees are on sale for $15, and Mt. Day Tees
(the leader pink) are a steal at $5!

WOC financial aid is available for BEGINNER students interested in learning
to ski or snowboard during our Winter Study Ski & Snowboard J-Term PE Class
programming ONLY. Please contact with your name, class yr and ID#

day ski passes, class instruction and rentals are covered under financial
aid for BEGINNERS only!
HUNTING SEASON!!
Deer (rifle & shotgun) season has begun in MA AND continues in New York:
MA 12/01 -12/14 - NY 11/16-12/08
(no hunting allowed in MA on Sundays!)
*if going into the nearby woods…Be aware and A-wear bright colors
The Nate Lowe climbing wall: Come get sendy with us! The wall is open
Monday- Thursday (Thursdays from 8-9pm reserved for people who don’t
identify as cis-gender male. All climbers are welcome from 9-10)
WOC Equipment Room: The Equipment Room will be open M - Th 12:30 - 1:30

WOC activities:
Friday:
Weekly sunrise hike wake up and down Pine Cobble (witness sunrise at
7:08am) Meet on Paresky steps at 6:00 AM. Dress for the chill and snowy
trail, NEED hiking boots/or snow boots with good tread!! bring extra
layers, headlamp, filled water bottle and a cup for hot drinks. Gear can be
borrowed from the equipment room with a current WOC memberhship. *Return to
campus by 8:45AM due to challenging snow conditons. * Contact Scott,

Saturday:
Landscape Photography with One of the Berkshire’s Prime Photographers!
Join us from about 2-4 in Paresky 212 to hear from Bob Wiley, one of
Berkshire County’s most proficient landscape and nature photographers
followed by a photography session outside! To reserve a spot email Georgia
at [log in to unmask] by Thursday, December 5th!
Sledding at Sheep Hill!
Join WOC for post-reindog parade sledding at Sheep Hill on at 2pm. We will
be meeting at the WOC equipment room at 2pm to grab sleds then drive (~5
minutes) to Sheep Hill, so all you need to bring is yourself and warm
clothes! Contact Danny at [log in to unmask] with any questions.
Run with the Reindeer 5K!! Join us outside of Nature’s Closet at 9am
Saturday morning for a 5K run for prizes and fun! Everyone is welcome
whether you are walking, running, or cheering people on. Sign up here
