WOC-ly OUTING CLUB CALENDAR

Hello WOC family! Come check out some of the awesome outdoor events we have
going on this week. All events are open to the Williams College community.


Announcements

INFO SESSION

Apogee is looking for responsible, dynamic, and motivated applicants to
lead experiential-education and adventure programs throughout the United
States, Europe, and Latin America in the summer of 2022. Leaders must serve
as excellent role models while fostering an atmosphere that is safe and
welcoming to bring out the best in each student. Excellent decision-making,
adaptability, risk management skills, and the ability to cooperate in a
shared leadership position are absolutely necessary. Applicants must be 20
years old and Wilderness First Aid certified* by June 12, 2022.

Our Information Session will be held on Wednesday, November 2nd, at 7 PM at
Mears House. We will be conducting interviews the following day. For more

Monday:

Spooky Halloween Climbing Open Hours get ready to be BOOlayed!  Special
Halloween Open Hours from 8 - 10 pm at the Nate Lowe Climbing Wall in the
Towne Field House! Come in your costume! Enjoy candy, games, and – of
course – climbing!  No experience necessary.  All equipment provided.



Tuesday:

Climbing Wall open!  There will be open climbing from 8 - 10 pm at the Nate
Lowe Climbing Wall in the Towne Field House.  No experience necessary.  All
equipment provided.

Afternoon Kite-Hill Hike! [image: 🪁] Enjoy the beautiful afternoon-evening
weather and decompress during the week with a leisurely and fun hike to
Kite Hill. The hike is ~4.5 miles with 500ft of elevation gain, with a
couple steep downhills. Sign up here

Meet in front of Paresky at 2:00 PM, and return around 4:00 PM. Bring a
light layer or two, but the weather should be very nice. If you need any
gear, or have any questions at all, email Li ([log in to unmask]).



Thursday:

Climbing Wall open!  Non cis-male climbing from 8 - 9 pm!  From 9 - 10
there will be open climbing at the Nate Lowe Climbing Wall. No experience
necessary.  All equipment provided.



Friday:

Darkest weekly sunrise hike of the academic year!!!– a “wake up” and down
trek on Pine Cobble.** Meet on Paresky steps at 6:00 AM for a dawn good
sunrise hike - (sunrise at 7:31 AM). This is a 3 mile hike round trip, one
thousand foot elevation gain to get your blood flowing and endorphins
coursing through your veins!! Dress for the weather -  and wear good
footwear for a trail that will be muddy, wet and always rocky! Winter
hats/gloves needed for warmth at the summit. Bring a headlamp/flashlight
(it’s a REAL sunrise hike, dark in the woods for sure!!), a filled water
bottle and a cup for hot drinks. Return to campus by 8:45AM. Please sign up

Saturday:

WOC Din! Come enjoy a delicious dinner with great company at 6:30 pm in
Dodd! We will be serving cheesy pasta, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts as
