Apply to be on WOOLF Staff or an Instructor!!

Do you really like wolves? If so, this might not be for you..BUT if you happen to want to join a wonderful group of people in making WOOLF 2022 the best one yet, apply here (application opening at 8pm) to be a staff member or an instructor! Williamstown Trail Steward Internship

WOC and Williamstown Rural Lands are offering two (2) paid seasonal Trail Steward positions to individuals interested in exploring careers related to the environment and outdoor recreation. One of the two positions is funded by the Robert Ikemori Quay '04 Outing Club Memorial Fellowship.

 

Trail Stewards will spend two months maintaining, building, and clearing trails in Williamstown's extensive trail network. They will also work on property improvement projects on some of WRL's nearly 1,000 acres of protected land.

 

Eight weeks

June 13 - August 5

Student on-campus housing is available for Williams College students.

The WOC Equipment Room will be open by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Hours are M – Th, 12—1:30 PM, &  F 12–2 pm. The Equipment Room is open to all WOC members. Please go to this appointment schedule to sign up.  

We want your feedback on trips! Have you recently gone on a trip and want to give us feedback on COVID-19 precautions and how things went? Fill out our feedback form after your trip so we know how we’re doing!

Thursday:

Climbing Wall open!  There will be open climbing from 8 -10 pm at the Nate Lowe Climbing Wall in the Towne Field House.  No experience necessary.  All equipment provided.  This is for WOC members only and memberships are available at the wall.  Please enter through the doors on the south (Weston Field) side and leave your shoes on the plastic tarp at the door.

 

Friday:

Weekly sunrise hike– a “wake up” and down trek on Pine Cobble. Meet on Paresky steps at 6:00 AM—sunrise at 6:21AM. This is a 3 mile hike round trip, one thousand foot elevation gain to get your blood flowing and endorphins coursing through your veins!! Dress for the weather -  winter hat/gloves needed for warmth at the summit, good footwear for a trail that will be SNOWY, muddy, wet and always rocky!  Bring a filled water bottle and a cup for hot drinks.  Return to campus by 8:30AM. Women’s Adventure Film Tour Screening!! Join us at 7 pm in Brooks-Rogers Hall (in the music building) for the Women’s Adventure Film Tour, a collection of short films celebrating women adventurers that’s currently being shown across the world. For more information, see their website. Come for as little or as long as you want! FREE and open to all Williams students, staff and faculty!


Stone Hill Walk Come talk a quick walk up Stone Hill and enjoy the wonderful view! Leaving from Resky Steps at 1:10pm. Return to campus by 2:30pm. Sign up here and contact Abby Kinney ([log in to unmask]) with any questions. 

 

Sunday: 

Sunset Stone Hill Walk! Leave the library and the Sunday scaries behind to enjoy a nice stroll and sunset at Stone Hill. Wear appropriate footwear (winter boots!) and layers for this slippery but fun ~1.5 mile hike. Be prepared for snowy conditions, too! Leave from Paresky steps at 5 pm. Return by 6:15 pm.
