More Than a Land Acknowledgement with Heather Brugel

Have you ever wondered about the history of the land that you are on? Do you understand the impacts of colonialism on the land and Native Nations? Do you want to do more than just acknowledge the land? Learn how to create a land acknowledgement that is living and full of action in this virtual workshop from 6-7pm with Heather Bruegl, M.A. (Oneida/Stockbridge-Munsee) Director of Education for the Forge Project Fellowship Program. Friday

Full moon hike  Come join us for a Full Moon walk along the Taconic Crest Trail.  Starts at 6 pm, back by 9ish.  This 5+ mile round trip will traverse the ridge to an overlook with outstanding views.  The weather will be frosty and there is snow on the ground up there today so layers of warm clothing, sturdy footwear, a headlamp or flashlight, a winter hat, and gloves are essential.  Contact Mila ([log in to unmask]) with questions and sign up on this form

Saturday

Hoosac Range Hike  Come check out some great purple valley views with us at the Hoosac Range trail near the hairpin turn at North Adams. We’ll meet at the Paresky steps at 10 am and after a beautiful 6 mile hike, we’ll be back at the steps around 2 pm. Pack snacks or a lunch, and dress warmly for the chilly ridgeline weather! If you don’t have warm gloves, a hat, and good footwear, you can check it out from the equipment room--email Maddie Burbage ([log in to unmask]) if you’ve got questions. Sign up here if you’re interested!
