Hello WOC family! Come check out some of the awesome outdoor events we have
going on this week. All events are open to the Williams College community.


Announcements

Deer Hunting Season in our area has beGUN (rifle/shotgun)

VT: Nov. 13 - Nov. 28

NY: Nov. 20- Dec. 12

MA: Nov. 29 - Dec. 11 (no hunting on sundays in MA)

*If going into the woods - Be aware and A-wear bright colors!!

OVERLAND is hiring!

· What: Join us for an Overland Info Session! Learn a bit more about
leading Overland trips.

· When: Tuesday, November 16, 7pm.

· Where: The Overland Office, 10 Walden Street. We're on the third floor of
the College bookstore/Spoon. Come around to the Walden Street side and come
up the stairs.

· Details: The Overland staff is fully vaccinated! Still, as is custom on
campus in indoor spaces, we'll be masked for the presentation.

JEDI weekly lunch! Join us to talk about anti-racism and responding to
accessibility issues in the outdoors on Tuesdays 12-1! We’ll meet on Chapin
steps (or in Paresky depending on weather). Eat lunch with us or just stop
by to say hi! Feel free to reach out to Isabel (isa2), Nick (nrh3), or Li
(lyp1) with any questions or suggestions.

The WOC Equipment Room will be open by appointment only.  Hours are
12:30-1:30pm (M-Th) and 12-2pm (Fri). The Equipment Room is open to all WOC

Monday

Climbing Wall open!  There will be open climbing from 8 - 10 pm at the Nate
Lowe Climbing Wall in the Towne Field House. No experience necessary. All
equipment provided. This is for WOC members only and memberships are
available at the wall. Please enter through the doors on the south (Weston
Field) side and leave your shoes on the plastic tarp at the door.



Tuesday

Climbing Wall open!  There will be open climbing from 8 - 10 pm at the Nate
Lowe Climbing Wall in the Towne Field House.  No experience necessary.  All
equipment provided.  This is for WOC members only and memberships are
available at the wall.  Please enter through the doors on the south (Weston
Field) side and leave your shoes on the plastic tarp at the door.



Wednesday

Non cis-male climbing from 8 - 9 pm!  From 9 - 10 all WOC members are
welcome and memberships are available at the wall.  No experience
necessary.  All equipment provided.   Please enter through the doors on the
south (Weston Field) side and leave your shoes on the plastic tarp at the
door.



Thursday

Stone Hill Trail Run!

Come run the trails out behind stone hill before they get snowed in! We
will be leaving from Paresky at 3:00pm and exploring at whatever pace the
group decides on. Trail running shoes are a plus, but definitely not
required, and come dressed for the weather. It should be around 5 miles

More Than a Land Acknowledgement with Heather Brugel

Have you ever wondered about the history of the land that you are on? Do
you understand the impacts of colonialism on the land and Native Nations?
Do you want to do more than just acknowledge the land? Learn how to create
a land acknowledgement that is living and full of action in this virtual
workshop from 6-7pm with Heather Bruegl, M.A. (Oneida/Stockbridge-Munsee)
Director of Education for the Forge Project Fellowship Program. This event

Friday

Full moon hike  Come join us for a Full Moon walk along the Taconic Crest
Trail.  Starts at 6 pm, back by 9ish.  This 5+ mile round trip will
traverse the ridge to an overlook with outstanding views.  The weather will
be frosty and there is snow on the ground up there today so layers of warm
clothing, sturdy footwear, a headlamp or flashlight, a winter hat, and

Saturday

Hoosac Range Hike  Come check out some great purple valley views with us at
the Hoosac Range trail near the hairpin turn at North Adams. We’ll meet at
the Paresky steps at 10 am and after a beautiful 6 mile hike, we’ll be back
at the steps around 2 pm. Pack snacks or a lunch, and dress warmly for the
chilly ridgeline weather! If you don’t have warm gloves, a hat, and good
footwear, you can check it out from the equipment room--email Maddie
