WOC-ly OUTING CLUB CALENDAR 2/10 - 2/16

Hello WOC family!  Come check out some of the awesome outdoors events we
have going on this week.   All events are open to WOC members. For more
information on how to join WOC, ask your trip leader or head on down to the
equipment room.

“Beauty and the Ephs!”

Winter Carnival is a celebration of winter at Williams! February 13th,
14th, & 15th. Classes cancelled on Friday! Winter Carnival hosts an
extravaganza of wintery activities and a range of events showcasing the
many interests and talents of Williams students! Everything from skiing to
concerts, skating, performances, dance parties, hikes, and more! WOC will
be tabling Wednesday and Thursday. Look out for events this Thursday,

WOC Board Applications are now open! Excited about getting the campus
community outside? Interested in leading trips, running on-campus programs

Round River Conservation Studies Info Session, Tuesday February 11th:

Are you planning on studying abroad? Do you want to camp, backpack, and get
hands-on doing conservation work? Round River offers study abroad programs
that integrate students into actual conservation projects in Patagonia,
Botswana, Mongolia, British Columbia, or Belize. Get your hands dirty
contributing to real conservation efforts and have an adventure! Round
River will be holding an info session at 7:00 PM in Hopkins 002 on February

Spaces open in WOC PE classes during 3rd Quarter:  There are still  spaces
open in the T 1 - 4 pm Winter Sampler class, the W 1 - 4 pm Climbing class,
and the W 1- 4 pm Telemark skiing class.  Contact [log in to unmask] to
register or with questions.



The Nate Lowe Climbing Wall:  Come get sendy with us!  The wall is open M -
Th 8 -10. On Thursday the wall is open to people who don’t identify as Cis-
Gender male from 8 -9 and welcomes everyone from 9 -10.  There are lots of
new routes and boulder problems for you to try.



WOC Equipment Room:   The Equipment Room will be open M - Th 12:30 -1:30 &
F from 12 -2 pm.  Open 10 - noon on Saturday if snow conditions warrant.

Wednesday:

Midweek Walk! Join us for a breath of fresh air and a walk up Stone Hill!
We will leave campus at 2 pm from the WOC Office and return around 3:30.

Kayak Rolling Session 7:30 - 9:00 Come by the indoor pool to learn the
basics of kayaking! Learn the basics of kayaking including forward paddle
strokes and rolling a full 360 degrees. Open to people of any or no
experience. Contact JT (tnw1) if you have questions!



Thursday: WINTER CARNIVAL begins!

Winter Carnival Begins! WOC Board has collaborated across campus to produce
a schedule chock full of events! Thursday night kicks off with themed
dinners across the dining halls, performances in Baxter, trivia and pub
night! The entire schedule is here

Friday: WINTER CARNIVAL continues! More info on WOC events below:

WOC Winter Carnival Outings - Join us at 1:00pm in the WOC equipment room
(downstairs Paresky) where there will be several WOC-led outings (hikes!)
going out:

   -

   @1:00 PM Introductory Trip, requiring no experience and be easy walking,
   mostly flat with one-incline, and will return by 3:00pm.
   -

   @1:15 PM Intermediate Trip, which will be more strenuous, and will
   return between 3:00 and 4:00pm, spots limited.

We’ll tailor the location to the weather and interests of the group.  Dress
for the weather in non-cotton layers. The WOC equipment room has boots,
warm layers and other cold-weather gear available for loan;



WOC membership is not required for either trip.Reach out to Jackson at

Blacklight Climbing Night! Join us at the Nate Lowe Climbing Wall this
Friday from 9-11 for a lit climbing experience. Featuring brand new routes
with glow in the dark holds, this promises to be a night to remember. Open
