WOC-ly OUTING CLUB CALENDAR 11/21- 11/24

Hello WOC family!  Come check out some of the awesome outdoors events we
have going on this week.   All events are open to WOC members. For more
information on how to join WOC, ask your trip leader or head on down to the
equipment room.

Announcements:


Open climbing this THURSDAY afternoon 11/21:   Open to all members of the
Williams community.  *Come to the climbing wall this afternoon 11/21 from
2-4 *and be part of a PE instruction course. We need learners of all ages
and abilities (preferably beginner) to join this class and learn from
student PE instructor candidates.  No experience or special equipment is
necessary, just a willingness to be taught climbing and a desire to learn.



Beginner climbing night this Friday! Learn to climb in a fun and supportive

WOC financial aid is available for BEGINNER students interested in learning
to ski or snowboard during our Winter Study Ski & Snowboard J-Term PE Class
programming ONLY. Please contact with your name, class yr and ID#
[log in to unmask] to *register for financial aid BY DEC. 6, 2019! * Three
day ski passes, class instruction and rentals are covered under financial
aid for BEGINNERS only!



Become a ski or snowboard patroller this winter study!  Round two winter
study registration is coming!  If you got dropped from your winter study or
want to try something new, sign up for SPEC 22 to learn to ski patrol!
Learn to be proficient in first aid skills, toboggan handling and mountain
maintenance, and become prepared to join the Williams ski and snowboard
patrol!  We ski for free when volunteer patrolling at Jiminy Peak. Both
skiers and snowboarders are welcome. Contact Annabelle (asf5) with
questions.



HUNTING SEASON!!

Deer (rifle & shotgun) season has begun in Vermont AND New York:
VT11/16/19 - 12/01/19 NY 11/16-12/08

*if going into the nearby woods…Be aware and A-wear bright colors



MA begins 12/02 - 12/14 (no hunting allowed in MA on Sundays!)



The Nate Lowe climbing wall:  Come get sendy with us!  The wall is open
Thursday 11/21 (Thursdays from 8-9pm reserved for people who don’t identify
as cis-gender male.  All climbers are welcome from 9-10) and Monday 11/25
from 8-10. *Closed 11/26 -12-1*



WOC Equipment Room:   The Equipment Room will be open M - Th 12:30 - 1:30

WOC activities:



Thursday:

Hike to Cascade Falls! Join us for a short hike to Cascade Falls to see a
beautiful waterfall. The total hike is 2 miles on flat ground along a
beautiful stream. We will leave from the WOC Office at 2:30 pm and return
to campus by 5:00. Please email [log in to unmask] if you are interested!



GORP Making! Are you feeling stressed and want to eat something that
reminds you of a better time? Come make GORP with us and reminisce on your
days on WOOLF if you went or just come, hang out, and have some good
snacks. We will be in Baxter at 2:45 pm! Please email [log in to unmask]

Friday:

Weekly sunrise hike wake up and down Pine Cobble (witness sunrise at
6:52am) Meet on Paresky steps at 6:00 AM.  Dress for the chilly and
possibly wet weather,  Bring a headlamp, filled water bottle and a cup for
hot drinks.  Return to campus by 8:30AM. Contact Scott, [log in to unmask]

Beginner Climbing Night! - Never been the climbing wall? Only been a couple
times? Want to try rock climbing? WOC is hosting an introductory night at
the wall complete with snacks, including pizza. There will be
Instructor-Monitors there to help belay, teach basic skills, and keep
everyone safe. This event is beginners-only, completely free and all
equipment will be provided. Beginner climbing night will take place from
8pm-10pm this Friday, November 22nd in the Towne Field House. Please reach

Saturday:

Visit to Gammelgarden Creamery!-Have you ever wondered where your delicious
skyr comes from? Come with us and discover this Saturday morning from
10am-12:30pm (meet on Paresky steps). Email [log in to unmask] if you would
like to reserve a spot.



Sunday:

Hike up Stone Hill! Are you looking for a way to recharge enough for Monday
and Tuesday classes? Join us for a simple, brisk, walk up Stone Hill on
Sunday morning, leaving campus at 10 am from the WOC office. Email
