WOC-ly OUTING CLUB CALENDAR 05/6- 05/12

Hello WOC family!  Come check out some of the awesome outdoors events we have going on this week.   All events are open to WOC members. For more information on how to join WOC, ask your trip leader or head on down to the equipment room.

Announcements:

EPIC Sunrise 9 mile Hike up and down Mt. Greylock MONDAY, May 13: Leaving at 2:30AM return to campus by 8:45AM. NEED TO RESERVE a spot - Contact Scott, [log in to unmask] by 4PM friday, 05/10/19

RIVERFEST! MAY 11, 11-4 SPRUCES PARK (The Lions) Williamstown:  Raft Rides, demonstrations of kayaking, biking, fishing. Food and music.  Exhibits under the big tent. Kids' activities. $5 tickets through Friday available at Mountainone, Williamstown.  $8 day of; includes raffle for e-bike, kayak, shade tree, outdoor clothing.

Mountain Day T-Shirt Design Contest!!!!!!!!!!! Whether you’re seeking eternal fame and glory, or you just love the mountains, here’s your chance to shine! Submit your custom design (just the front) for this year’s Mountain Day T-Shirt. Please drop them off at the WOC office (second floor Paresky) OR email submissions to Aidan, [log in to unmask] by 11pm on Friday, May 10th.

WOC Equipment Room:   The Equipment Room will be open M, T, & W from 12 -3 for WOOLF leaders and instructors to borrow gear for WLTW.  The Equipment room will also be open Th 12:30 -1:30 & F 12 - 2 Email [log in to unmask].

PBC bikes for loan at WOC Equipment Room:  There are bikes for 24 hour or weekend loan through the Equipment Room.  Bring your WOC membership card.

Climbing: The Nate Lowe climbing wall will be open 8-10 pm Thursday.  Thursday nights from 8-9 are reserved for people who don’t identify as cis-gender male.  All climbers are welcome from 9-10.

WOC activities:

Friday:

End your academic year with a Weekly Sunrise(n) hike to the summit of Pine Cobble (sunrise at 5:36am) Meet on Paresky steps at 6:00 AM.  Dress for the weather - could be wet and trail will be muddy and slick!  Bring a filled water bottle and a cup for hot drinks.  Return to campus by 8:30AM. Sing around the campfire!!!  The WOC board will be gathering for song, stories and smores to end the academic year at 8:30pm by the campfire ring behind the tennis courts. Free free to bring instruments or just your voices; we encourage all manners of talent to share and celebrate!!

Sunday:

Caving trip to Bentley’s Cave! There are still spaces on the WOC trip to Bentley’s Cave in Berlin, NY.  Come get muddy, wet and cold and have a really cool time. We will be leaving campus at 1 and be back by 5. Please note that we will be spending an extended time in enclosed spaces.  Lights and helmets available from WOC.
