OUTING CLUB WEEKLY CALENDAR 02/27 - 03/05


Hello WOC family! Come check out some of the awesome outdoors events we have going on this week. All events are open to WOC members. For more information on how to join WOC, ask your trip leader or head on down to the equipment room.


Announcements:


WOOLF staff and instructor applications: Want to get involved with WOOLF 2017?? Applications for Staff and Instructor positions are due on Wednesday, March 1st. The application is electronic and can be found at this link:https://goo.gl/forms/zAzZZ1CCDqWd74NJ3. Please reach out to Emily (ews1), Skylar (sws2), or Rob  (rth2) with questions.


Apogee Adventures: Want to get paid for doing what you love this summer? Come learn about leading outdoor trips for Apogee Adventures. Apogee offers hiking, biking, and service trips across the country and abroad for kids ages 11-18.  The information session will be held Tuesday, February 28, 7 pm, in the Mears Lewis Room.


Climbing:

The Nate Lowe climbing wall will be open 8-:30 -10:30 pm Monday and 8 - 10 pm Tuesday - Thursday.  Thursday nights from 8-9 are reserved for non-cis men.  All climbers are welcome on Thursdays from 9-10.


WOC Equipment Room:  The equipment room is located on Paresky level M. Open M-Th 12:30-1:30 and F 12-2.  WOC memberships for sale during open hours, Student $10, Fac/Staff $15, spouse/partner $25  Email [log in to unmask] with questions.



Thursday:

Polar Bear Swim!

Come join the coolest club on campus for a dip in the Green River. Bring a friend and a towel to Paresky steps at 9 PM. Contact Glen at gg5 with questions.


Kayak demo and job opportunities with ZOAR Outdoors

7:15 pm college pool, bring a bathing suit and your rolling skills if you have some!  Learn about summer employment opportunities, test out a kayak or paddleboard, and learn more about kayaking, paddleboard, zipline, and other adventures in the Berkshires

.

Friday:

Sunrise Hike up Pine Cobble!  Meet on Paresky steps at 6AM.   Dress for the snow and COLD,  bring a water bottle and a cup for hot drinks.  Return to campus by 8:45 am.  Contact Scott, [log in to unmask] if you have questions!


Saturday:

North Adams Farmer’s Market + Natural Bridge State Park!

Join Max and Abby on an adventure to North Adams! We will begin the day by heading to the Winter Indoor Farmer’s Market and checking out the local food and live music. After, we will head over to the Natural Bridge State Park and go on a walk (around 1 mile) across the *only* naturally formed white marble arch in North America (oooh!). Don’t know what that means? We don’t either - come check it out with us! Leave campus at 10 am, return by 2pm. Email Abby at aer1 to sign up.


Overnight at the WOC Lean-to in Hopkins Forest

Did you know that WOC has a lean-to that’s free to use? Join Matthew and Jackson on a casual overnight in our own Hopkins Forest. It’ll be cold but we’ll be warm and toasty in WOC’s -20 degree sleeping bags! Meeting Saturday at 3pm, back on campus by 10am on Sunday. Sign-up required, email Matthew (mbg5). Trip cost is roughly $5 for food, financial aid is available (email slewis).
