OUTING CLUB WEEKEND UPDATE 02/23- 02/26

Hello WOC family! Come check out some of the awesome outdoors events we have going on this weekend. All events are open to WOC members. For more information on how to join WOC, ask your trip leader or head on down to the equipment room.

Announcements:

Climbing Wall Instructor Monitor training: There will be a 2 part  training to become an IM at the Nate Lowe Climbing Wall on Tuesday 2/28 from 8-10 and Tuesday 3/7 from 8-10.  You must attend both trainings.  Applications may be picked up from the bulletin board outside the WOC office on 2nd floor Paresky and should be returned by 9 am M. 2/27.

Climbing:

The Nate Lowe climbing wall will be open  8 - 10 pm tonight.  Thursday nights from 8-9 are reserved for non-cis men.  All climbers are welcome on Thursdays from 9-10.

Thursday:

Polar Bear Swim!

Come join the coolest club on campus for a dip in the Green River. Bring a friend and a towel to Paresky steps at 9 PM. Contact Glen at gg5 with questions.

Friday:

Sunrise Hike up Pine Cobble!  Meet in the WOC Equipment Room at 6AM.   Dress for the snow and COLD,  bring a water bottle and a cup for hot drinks.  Return to campus by 8:45 am.  Contact Dave, [log in to unmask] if you have questions!

Saturday:

Long Taconic Crest Hike: Join us on Saturday for an exhilarating and challenging hike up to the Taconic Crest! Leaving from campus, we'll climb up the RRR Brooks Trail to the Taconic Crest, and return via the Hopkins Forest Birch Brook Trail. Leave 9am, return no later than 3:30pm. Round trip 9 miles. Email jdb3 to reserve a spot/with any questions!

Stone Hill Sleepover!

Join Phacelia and Max on a sleepover in the Crystal on Stone Hill on Saturday night!  We will check out super warm sleeping bags for everyone the night of, so don’t worry if you don’t have warm enough stuff yourself, or if you’ve never been camping before! Hot chocolate and a cozy vibe. We’ll meet at 8pm at Paresky and walk up the hill.  Email mwh4 to sign up!  

Equipment Room:  Equipment room is located Paresky level M.  Th 12:30-1:30 and F 12-2. We will not be open Saturday this week.  Email [log in to unmask] for questions. You can purchase annual WOC memberships during open hours, Student $10, Fac/Staff $15, spouse/partner $25
