Michael will lead us in an exploration of bark — which is visible in any season — teaching the skills necessary to distinguish species by their bark and explaining why such a variety of bark characteristics exist. An indoor introduction will be followed by an outdoor walk to learn the art of identifying trees using Wojtech’s innovative approach, detailed in his recent book “Bark: a Field Guide to the Trees of the Northeast”.
