OUTING CLUB EVENTS 3/7 – 3/13

ANNOUNCEMENTS

-Applications for the 2011-2012 Outing Club board are now available and can be picked up on the "WOC Man" by the front entrance of Paresky.  Those interested in applying are encouraged to attend the WOC SOCIAL HOUR this Wednesday, from 7-8pm in Henze Lounge on the 2nd Floor of Paresky. Come meet current board members, chat about spring break plans and future outings, and enjoy some free ice cream! Applications are due April 8th, and can be returned outside the WOC Office on the 2nd Floor of Paresky.  

-Interested in becoming certified to teach WOC classes and lead trips? The Outing Club will be offering an Instructor Scholarship to help pay for a student's certification that will allow them to give back to the Outing Club and the Williams Community. Applications can be picked up on the "WOC Man" by the front entrance of Paresky, and must be returned to the WOC Office no later than Friday, April 8th. Please contact Mike (mbg1) with any questions. 

-Applications for the 2011 Quay summer trail crew felllowship are now available and can be picked up on the "WOC Man" by the front entrance of Paresky. Established in 2006 by family and Friends of Bob Quay, '04.  To be awarded to an underclassman or senior committed to combining a sense of community service with enhancing accessibility to the local wilderness trails by performing trail maintenance.  This stipend will support the work of one student for 8 weeks,  June. 13 - Aug. 5.  

-The equipment room is open from 12:30-1:30PM on Monday-Thursday, and 12-2PM on Friday. Visit us in Paresky basement to check out gear with your WOC membership card.

MONDAY

TUESDAY

-Polar Bear Swim; join us for a refreshing dip in the Green River.  Meet on Paresky steps at 9 PM, and don’t forget to bring warm clothes, a flashlight, and a towel. Email Abby at atm1 with questions. 

-Kayak rolling! Come learn to roll a kayak in the college pool, no experience necessary! 7-8 PM. Email mbg1 if you’re interested.

-Open climbing at the Nate Lowe wall in the Field House! 8:15-10:15PM                   

WEDNESDAY

- WOC Ice Cream Social! Come to Henze Lounge (2^nd floor of Paresky) from 7-9PM to meet current WOC board members, chat about spring break plans and future outings, and eat some free ice cream! Those applying for positions on the 2011-2012 board are strongly encouraged to attend!

THURSDAY

-Open climbing at the Nate Lowe wall in the Field House! 8:30-10:30PM              

FRIDAY

-Sunrise Hike up Pine Cobble!  Meet at Chapin Steps at 6AM, we will return to campus by 8:45AM.

SPRING BREAK!

-WOC is going to the Grand Canyon, Red River Gorge in Kentucky, and Joshua Tree National Park in California!
