Renowned climber and explorer, Majka Burhardt, will be giving a slideshow and presentation on her recent trip to Namibia. In May, 2009, she led a small team of climbers into a landscape of scorpions, laser sharp granite cracks, the Himba –the last great Southern African ancestral tribe, and 1.7 meter-long cobra tracks for first ascents and cultural connection. Come hear her story Thursday, March 10 in Brooks Rogers, at 7:30 pm. Sponsored by WOC, Africana Studies, and the Women’s and Gender Studies Departments.
