Here are our events for the week of 11/16/09 – 11/22/09:

ANNOUNCEMENTS

GOT SKILLS??  Want to share them?  WOC is now recruiting Winter Skill instructors for the following activities: Alpine skiing, Snowboarding, Telemark skiing, Nordic skiing, and snowshoeing!!  If interested pick up an Instructor Application outside the WOC office, 2nd Floor Paresky.  Instructors will receive training, pay, 1 PE credit, and special rates on lift tickets. Hunting (rifle/shotgun) season has BeGUN!  Check the dates-in VT: Nov.14-Nov.29, NY: Nov.21-Dec.13, MA: Nov.30-Dec.12 (no hunting on Sundays in MA.)  Be aware and a-wear bright colors!

MONDAY

-   Open Climbing at the Nate Lowe wall!  8-10 PM in the Field House. 

-     METEOR STARGAZING campout on Stone Hill!  Join us for the Lenoid meteor shower, predicted to be especially good for the northeast!  Meet at 10:30 PM outside of the WOC Office in upstairs Paresky, snacks will be provided.

TUESDAY

-     Kayak roll sessions!  Learn to roll a kayak, no experience necessary; 7-8:30 in the pool, bring bathing suit and enthusiasm - come and go as you please!

-     Polar Bear Swim, come for a refreshing dip in the Green River!  Meet on Paresky steps at 10PM and don’t forget to bring warm clothes and a towel. Questions to Fiona at few1.

-     Open climbing at the Nate Lowe wall!  Hours are 8-10 PM in the Field House. 

WEDNESDAY

-     Open climbing at the Nate Lowe wall from 8-10 PM in the Field House.

-     WOC weekly meeting; 7PM in Schapiro Hall 141, all members are welcome!  Contact Ali at 10ahd to know more.

THURSDAY

-     Jiminy Peak Ski Season Pass sale; 3 – 7 PM in Paresky 210.  Pick up your student only SEASON - SKI ANYTIME - PASS for $299, also offered throughout the season at Jiminy Peak for the same price (compare at reg. season pass cost $459).  WOC also will be offering a VERY special rate J-term pass on Jan 5^th for students interested in downhill skiing, snowboarding and telemark skiing during winter study only.  Questions, contact Scott at [log in to unmask].

FRIDAY

-     Sunrise Hike up Pine Cobble!  Meet at Chapin Steps at 6:15AM, we will return to campus by 8:45AM

SUNDAY

-     Hike up Mt Prospect!  We will be leaving Chapin steps at 2 PM - contact Ali at 10ahd for more information.

-     Thanksgiving MIDNIGHT Polar Bear swim!  Meet on Paresky steps at 10PM and don’t forget to bring warm clothes and a towel. Questions to Abby at atm1.
