WOC-ly OUTING CLUB CALENDAR 3/2 - 3/8

Hello WOC family!  Come check out some of the awesome outdoors events we
have going on this week.   All events are open to WOC members. For more
information on how to join WOC, ask your trip leader or head on down to the
equipment room.

Announcements:



Be an Instructor-Monitor at the Nate Lowe climbing wall:  There will be a 2
part IM training from 8 -10 pm on 3/9 & 3/16.  You must attend both
sessions. Applications are available on the bulletin board outside the WOC
office & should be returned by Thursday 3/5.  email [log in to unmask]

The Nate Lowe Climbing Wall:  The wall is open M - Th 8 -10. On Thursday
the wall is open to people who don’t identify as Cis- Gender male from 8 -9
and welcomes everyone from 9 -10.  There are lots of new routes and boulder
problems for you to try. Come get sendy with us!



WOC Equipment Room:   The Equipment Room will be open M - Th 12:30 -1:30 &
F from 12 -2 pm.  Email: [log in to unmask]



WOC activities:



Wednesday:

Kayak Rolling Session 7:30 - 9:00 Come by the indoor pool to learn the
basics of kayaking! Learn the basics of kayaking including forward paddle
strokes and rolling a full 360 degrees. Open to people of any or no
experience. Contact JT, [log in to unmask] if you have questions!



Friday:

Weekly sunrise hike wake up and down Pine Cobble (witness sunrise at 6:19
am) Meet on Paresky steps at 6:00 AM.  Dress for the chill and snowy
trail,  NEED hiking boots/or snow boots with good tread!! bring extra
layers, headlamp,  filled water bottle and a cup for hot drinks.   Return
to campus by 8:30AM. Contact Scott, [log in to unmask] if you have

Saturday:

Hike up Mt. Berlin! Join us for a difficult, but rewarding hike up Mt.
Berlin. Leaving at 9am and returning by 1pm, the hike is around 5 miles
with some significant elevation gain -- we’ll take it slow! Contact Duncan,
[log in to unmask] with any questions or to reserve a spot!



Sunday:

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME - clocks "spring" ahead 1 hour!!


*Hike south on the famed AT to the Prospect Look out! * Intermediate hike
of 4 mi round trip with 1200’ gain of elevation (similar to a Pine Cobble
hike) leaving campus at 11:45AM returning by 2pm.  Contact

Books in Bloom! Feeling studious on a Sunday? Perhaps you’re even in the
library dreaming of greener pastures….stop by Chapin Special Collections at
12:30 and look at rare nature-related books! Just like reading seed
catalogues in bed, we can think of spring from a quiet library perch, (and
maybe be inspired to go for a stroll). Email [log in to unmask] with
