Help the Outing Club make sweet trips happen! This weekend, aka fall
reading period, Alex Beecher and myself will be leading a Mountain
Guide training trip. Going on a training trip is the first step of the
process towards being certified to lead trips for WOC (the other major
requirement is to co-lead a trip with a current Mountain Guide). We're
looking for people with some outdoor experience who want to get more
involved with WOC. Note that former WOOLF leaders do *not* need to
come on this trip to become Mountain Guides; they only need to co-lead
a trip with a current Mountain Guide (email 10anb for more
information). Frosh are especially welcome to come on this trip, as
are upperclassmen with outdoor experience who did not lead a WOOLF
trip.
The trip will be a one-night overnight in Hopkins Forest, leaving
Sunday afternoon and returning early Monday afternoon (10/11-10/12).
We'll practice all the skills of camping, go over basic outdoor
leadership skills and the WOC protocols for leading trips, and
generally have a good time in the woods. Space is limited, so if
you're interested, reserve your spot soon (deadline is this Wednesday)
