Hello all,

WOC is offering 2 snowshoe trips in the next few weeks for any intrepid adventurers who would like to get out and explore the area.

On Wednesday 1/19 there will be a full moon nighttime excursion to Spruce Hill in Savoy Mt. State Forest.  The town of Savoy was mentioned on the news Thursday as having received 38" of snow during the storm, more than any place else in the Berkshires, so this should be an amazing trip in fantastic conditions.  We'll hike up to an overlook with spectacular views before returning.  A possible return option is a ridge hike along the Hoosac Range Trail with more great views.  This trip will leave at 8 pm and return to Williams by midnight.  Please email lmm1 or da1 for details or to reserve a place.

On Tuesday 2/1 we are offering the last Winter Study/Dead Week trip of 2011.  This traverse of the Taconic Crest Trail will go from Rt. 2 to Rt. 346, a distance of 7.5 miles through 3 states.  Along the way there are great views to the west and to the east, as well as a side trip to the Snow Hole.  This trip will leave at 10 am and return by 5 pm. Both of these trips will take place in remote locations and are of an extended length and time.  We won't be on the golf course or behind the Clark.  Attached please find a day trip gear list.
